How It came about

Greens Norton Community Centre Association (GNCCA) was formed in 1999 and set up with charitable status. A need had been identified for a larger community facility than was at that time available. There was also a need for changing rooms, etc. adjacent to the playing field. A building was designed and planning permission obtained, but funding was difficult.

In 2003 a company called Aims, who occupied an adjacent building to the playing fields were taken over and intimated that the building would soon be sold. This started frenzied activity, headed by the Parish council, which resulted in the site being purchased. Conversion work was then undertaken to convert the office building into a community centre. This work was completed towards the end of 2006 and the building was officially opened on 26th. November, 2006.
